Job summary

Trinity Health in Grand Rapids is seeking a Part-time Patient Access Representative for the night shift. You will greet patients and families, verify demographics, clinical and insurance information, and enter data into the patient accounting system to register for services.

Responsibilities include processing physician orders, performing online eligibility verifications, collecting liabilities, and guiding patients with referrals to financial counseling when needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year customer service experience required.
• HS Diploma or equivalent
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one year of hire.

Obtains and processes signed physician orders, conducts online insurance eligibility/benefit verification on designated cases, notifies patient/guarantor and collects patient liabilities, and refers appropriate cases to financial counseling for follow-up and consultation. May provide escort and directional support to patients, family members and visitors.

Status: Part time, 3rd shift

16 hours/week

Wk 1: Friday 11p-7a, Saturday 11p-7a

Wk 2: Sunday 11p-7a, Monday 11p-7a

Training

The first two weeks of training are M-F, 8a-430pm must be able to attend this*

Minimum Qualifications

• 1 year customer service experience, required

• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire.

Additional Qualifications (nice to have)

Medical terminology required & knowledge of diagnostic & procedural coding Insurance verification with the ability to explain benefits, secure necessary authorizations
