Job summary

Jobtailor in Augusta, Maine is seeking a patient registration specialist to greet patients, collect required information and ensure accurate demographic and billing data in our registration system. You will coordinate with the care team to facilitate smooth placement and scheduling in a busy clinic while addressing questions and concerns.

Qualifications

• Minimum extensive customer service experience.
• Excellent and demonstrated communication skills.
• Experience in patient registration, scheduling, or other clerical/customer service in a medical office preferred.
• Ability to keyboard accurately and quickly.
• Basic insurance knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Meets with patient or patient's caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation
• Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions
• Communicates with unit staff and other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information and determine placement
• Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance, or refers to financial counselors for follow up
• Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy
