Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a part-time Patient Access Representative to handle patient registration, verify identities, review schedules, and scan insurance documents. You will enter demographics and insurance data with care, and explain and collect co-pays, deposits, and balances while ensuring privacy standards.

• HS - High School Grad or Equivalent.
• 2 years of Customer Service and/or Data Entry experience.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree can substitute two years of experience.

City/StateNorfolk, VAWork ShiftSecond (Evenings)Overview:Part Time-2nd ShiftAs a Patient Access Representative with Sentara, you will be responsible for all aspects of the patient registration process, including: verifying the patient identity and selecting the correct patient record, reviewing schedules and physician orders to register the patient for the appropriate service, scanning important documents such as insurance cards, ID's, Living Wills, and POAs and verifying and entering the patient's demographic and insurance information in the electronic health record. During the registration process, the Patient Access Rep will explain and complete complex regulatory and compliance documents and adhere to all applicable privacy and compliance standards. They also explain and collect co-payments, deposits, and outstanding balances and perform the transactions securely. In most areas, the Patient Access Rep is the first point of contact for patients and provides the first impression of Sentara. They greet patients and families, answer questions, and ensure the patients arrive to the appropriate service area at the right time. The base pay range for full-time employment is $20.24 - $30.25 hourly.
