Responsibilities

  • Accurately collects, analyzes and records demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data in the system and ensures all required documentation is on file.
  • Maintains knowledge of insurance verification and understanding of insurance plans.
  • Answers telephone calls promptly and professionally and directs calls appropriately.
  • Educates patients about financial obligations and provides estimates.
  • Refer patients needing financial assistance to a Financial Advocate.
  • Schedule walk-in procedures and coordinate with central scheduling.

The role addresses patient inquiries and manages patient wayfinding. The role also supports administrative tasks and ensures compliance with financial and insurance procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately and thoroughly collects, analyzes and records demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data in computersystem.Ensuresinformation source isappropriateand all required documentation are on file
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of insurance verification and understanding of insurance plans
  • Answers telephone calls promptly and accurately. Takes telephone messages and directs calls inan appropriateand professional manner
  • Communicates effectively to provideappropriate educationregardingpatient financial obligations through POS and estimates.
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives anddemonstratesinitiative to improve quality and customer services with a goal to exceed customer expectations.
  • Maintain ability to perform roles associated with patientself serviceregistration processes
  • Monitors andmaintainsmultiple work queues
  • Refer patients who need financialassistancewith their clinic/hospital bills to a Financial Advocate
  • Perform functions other than described due to extenuating circumstances
  • Schedules walk in procedures andcollaborateswith central schedulingregardingother needs
Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Two (2) years of customer service OR healthcare related experience preferred.
