UnityPoint Health is seeking an Admitting Tech to register patients and collect demographics and insurance information for each visit. You will obtain signatures for billing and assess patient liability at service time, while interacting compassionately to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-year medical office or equivalent experience preferred.
• Fluent English; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Register patients.
• Review and gather patient demographics and insurance information.
• Understand insurance cards and co-pays/deductibles.
• Acquire and explain all required patient signatures for consents.
• Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls.
• Manage financial responsibilities including visit estimates and payments.
• Meet point of service goals and standards; balance and close cash drawers.

Creates accurate and thorough registration for each patient visit. Responsible for obtaining demographic and financial information, as well as obtaining signatures required for successful billing submission. Collects patient liability before or at the time of service as defined by the patient’s insurance plan. Identifies those patients who may need financial assistance. Interact in a customer focused and compassionate manner to ensure patient’s needs are met.

Qualifications

Education:
