Job summary

Trinity Health Byron Center is seeking a Part Time Patient Access Representative to greet patients, collect demographic and insurance information, and enter data into our patient accounting system to ensure accurate registration for services.

The role includes verifying orders, performing online eligibility checks, communicating patient liabilities, and coordinating with financial counseling when needed. This position is onsite with some escort duties to assist patients and visitors.

Qualifications

• 1 year customer service experience, required.
• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire.
• Medical terminology required & knowledge of diagnostic & procedural coding

Responsibilities

Description:

The Patient Access Representative greets patients/family members and obtains and/or verifies demographic, clinical, financial and insurance information in the process of registering patients for service delivery, including the entry of patient/guarantor information in the patient accounting system, collection of patient signatures on all appropriate forms and the imaging/copying of registration documents. Obtains and processes signed physician orders, conducts online insurance eligibility/benefit verification on designated cases, notifies patient/guarantor and collects patient liabilities, and refers appropriate cases to financial counseling for follow-up and consultation. May provide escort and directional support to patients, family members and visitors.

Status: Part time - 18 hours per week

• Week 1: 3p-9p Mon, 3p-9p Thurs, 3p-9p Fri
• Week 2: 3p-9p Mon, 3p-9p Fri, Sat 8a-2p
• Week 3: Sun 8a-2p, Mon 3p-9p, Fri 3p-9p

Training: The first two weeks of training are M-F, 8a-430pm must be able to attend this*

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1 year customer service experience, required
