Job summary

Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA seeks a Patient Access Representative to register patients and ensure accurate data for the Revenue Cycle. You will maintain patient safety through proper ID practices and deliver excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of Billing/Customer Service/Patient Registration preferred.
• CHAA certification within 1 year is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains or validates patient information and registers patients into the software system.
• Ensures all demographic and financial data are documented accurately.
• Maintains patient safety with correct patient identification practices.
• Handles registration inquiries and processes payments for Time of Service.
• Adheres to EMTALA rules when registering patients in ED and Obstetrics.

Works daily reports and account work queues to ensure the integrity of registration data. The Patient Access representative is responsible for the delivery of critical components of the Revenue Cycle; understanding regulatory compliance, maintaining patient safety through correct patient identification practices, and providing excellent customer service.What you will doObtains or validates patient information and registers patients into the software system, while providing a high level of customer service.Ensures all necessary demographic and financial data are obtained and documented into the system.Maintains patient safety through the correct patient identification practices.
