TEKsystems is seeking a Patient Access Representative for a busy Emergency Department in Santa Rosa, CA. You will greet patients, register demographics, verify identification and insurance, and collect information to support smooth admissions.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, capable of multitasking in a fast-paced setting, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a fully onsite environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in patient access or front desk roles is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients arriving in the Emergency Department.
• Register patients and enter demographic information accurately.
• Verify patient identity and insurance coverage; collect required information.
• Explain payment options and assist with financial screening when needed.
• Explain consent forms and admissions paperwork; distribute documents and collect registrations.
• Answer calls and assist patients, visitors, and clinical staff.

About The Role

We are seeking a Patient Access Representative to join a busy Emergency Department team in Santa Rosa. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors and plays a critical role in ensuring a positive patient experience from the moment they arrive.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients arriving in the Emergency Department
• Register patients and accurately enter demographic information
• Verify patient and visitor identity using photo identification and other documentation
• Verify insurance coverage and collect necessary information
• Identify patients who may need financial assistance and explain payment options
• Review and explain consent forms and admissions paperwork
• Distribute and collect required registration documents
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients, visitors, and clinical staff
• Maintain accurate records while ensuring patient confidentiality

Qualifications

• Previous patient access, patient registration, medical office, front desk, admissions, customer service, or healthcare experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Comfortable interacting with patients during urgent and emergency situations

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Santa Rosa, CA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
