Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Patient Access General professional for a hybrid schedule in Lewisville, TX. You will toggle multiple systems, perform remote patient registration, and reconcile census data between hospital records and patient registrations.

You will verify insurance coverage, manage demographic updates, and handle provider communications. The role supports daily and weekly team huddles via MS Teams and contributes to performance outcomes in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 0-2+ years relevant experience in healthcare with knowledge of billing and collections, medical insurance claims procedures and documentation, patient care charts and histories, patient registration procedures and documentation.
• Experience with payer portals and insurance verification processes is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to support daily huddles and performance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Toggling multiple systems & applications to register patients and verify information.
• Remote patient registration and enrollment processing.
• Census reconciliation between hospital data and patient registrations.
• Update patient demographics and identification as needed.
• Verify insurance coverage and map correct plan codes.
• Identify and hold encounters pending follow up.
• Resolve unbilled encounters and ensure timely billing.
• Prepare and respond to provider and records requests via electronic communications.
• Participate in daily team huddles and report performance outcomes.
• Monitor productivity in daily/weekly MS Teams meetings.

This position will be on a hybrid schedule working two days in the Lewisville, TX office and three days from home.

What you will do:

• Toggling multiple systems & applications


• Remote patient registration


• Census Reconciliation- Hospital vs. Patient registration data


• Patient Identification/Demographic updates


• Insurance verification, mapping correct plan codes to insurance types


• Hold codes- Identify and Hold encounters pending follow up


• Resolving Unbilled encounters


• Electronic communications- Provider, Medical Record request


• Attend team daily huddles; to received and provide process report performance outcomes


• Performance/Productivity- Daily/Weekly huddles MS Teams

What you will need :

• High School Diploma/GED or 3 years of relevant equivalent in lieu of diploma/GED


• 0-2+ years relevant experience in healthcare with knowledge of billing and collections, medical insurance claims procedures and documentation, patient care charts and histories, patient registration procedures and documentation.

What would be nice to have :

• Familiar with Insurance payer portal


• Realtime Insurance eligibility verifications


• Knowledge of Health Insurance plans, HMO, PPO, Manage Care and Replace plan coverage
