Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Patient Access General professional for a hybrid role in Lewisville, TX. You will support patient intake, verify insurance, and assist with registration processes to ensure accurate and timely access to care.

The role requires strong system navigation, attention to detail, and clear communication with patients and care teams. Expect collaboration in daily huddles and adherence to healthcare billing practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus relevant healthcare exposure.
• Experience with patient registration and billing procedures is preferred.
• Ability to verify insurance and document patient information accurately.

Responsibilities

• Toggling multiple systems and applications to process patient registrations.
• Remote patient registration and data reconciliation between hospital and patient records.
• Verify demographics and insurance coverage; map codes to plans.
• Identify hold codes and resolve unbilled encounters with follow-up.
• Communicate with providers and medical records via electronic channels.
• Participate in daily team huddles and track performance in MS Teams.

This position will be on a hybrid schedule working two days in the Lewisville, TX office and three days from home.

What you will do

• Toggling multiple systems & applications
• Remote patient registration
• Census Reconciliation- Hospital vs. Patient registration data
• Patient Identification/Demographic updates
• Insurance verification, mapping correct plan codes to insurance types
• Hold codes- Identify and Hold encounters pending follow up
• Resolving Unbilled encounters
• Electronic communications- Provider, Medical Record request
• Attend team daily huddles; to received and provide process report performance outcomes
• Performance/Productivity- Daily/Weekly huddles MS Teams

What you will need

• High School Diploma/GED or 3 years of relevant equivalent in lieu of diploma/GED
• 0-2+ years relevant experience in healthcare with knowledge of billing and collections, medical insurance claims procedures and documentation, patient care charts and histories, patient registration procedures and documentation.

What would be nice to have

• Familiar with Insurance payer portal
• Realtime Insurance eligibility verifications
• Knowledge of Health Insurance plans, HMO, PPO, Manage Care and Replace plan coverage
