Job summary

Adventist Health is seeking a diligent patient registrar at our California location. You will interview patients to collect account information, verify insurance, and calculate patient liability while ensuring accurate records.

Qualifications

  • High School/GED or equivalent preferred.
  • Associate’s/Technical degree or related experience preferred.
  • Experience with patient intake and insurance processes is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for timely and accurate patient registration. Interview patients for all pertinent account information.
  • Verify all insurance and calculate and collect patient liability amounts.
  • Ensure that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment.
  • Explain policies clearly and answer patient questions.
  • Check for physician orders and attach them to the appropriate patient record to ensure correct tests are received.
  • Print and collate any paperwork needed for each patient for distribution to unit/department.
  • Escort patients to their area or refer patients to an available escort as needed.
Qualifications
  • Education and Work Experience:
    • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
    • Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
Essential Functions
  • Check for physician orders and attach them to the patient medical record to ensure that patients are receiving appropriate tests.
  • Choose the correct health plan and research to ensure accuracy when verifying insurance. Enter all authorization information accurately as needed.
  • Follow guidelines and instructions from senior staff.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
