Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Registration Specialist at the St Marys - Detroit Lakes Clinic. This role greets patients, collects demographics and financial information, and ensures accurate registration and billing data.

You will liaise with Virtual Patient Registration Representatives and schedule follow-ups as ordered by physicians. The position offers a rotating schedule with day/evening shifts, including weekend ED rotation, and may be remote/hybrid.

Qualifications

• Interviews patients to obtain complete demographic details, financial information, and minimum health information.
• Obtains insurance cards/IDs and updates patient information in the medical record.
• Performs point-of-service data collection including co-pays and deposits.
• Maintains work queues and provides friendly customer service.
• Rotates day/evening shifts and weekends as required.

Building Location:St Marys - Detroit Lakes ClinicDepartment:1006160 REGISTRATION - EH SSJob Description:This position will typically work 8 hour shifts and will have a rotating schedule including the Emergency Department weekend rotation which is every other weekend. The shift start times currently vary anywhere from 5:45a- 10:30a.*if you start at 10:30a, you will have an hour for lunch, and all other start times will have a 30 minute lunch*This position greets customers and facilitates the patient registration process in a timely, professional, and courteous manner. Interviews and obtains demographic and financial information from patients or their representatives through face-to-face and virtual interactions to provide Essentia Health with the documents and data necessary to ensure appropriate care and compliant, accurate patient registration and billing.This position serves as liaisons between patients and Virtual Patient Registration Representatives and Patient Schedulers.
