Job summary

Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Patient Access Representative for OP Registration to support the patient intake, eligibility verification, and cashiering processes. The role schedules Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM and pays $16.00–$21.00 per hour, with full-time benefits.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of customer service experience, and preferably CHAM or CHAA certification.

Qualifications

• Two years of patient access or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a good production level, registering patients in a timely manner using the Lobby system.
• Scans designated material (IDs, cards) as assigned.
• Obtains and witnesses proper signatures for authorizations, releases, and consents as needed.
• Scans all designated material (back and front of cards, back and front of picture IDs and other material if applicable) as assigned by department.
• Utilizes Patient Estimator Software to perform cashier duties as needed. Collects payments, issues receipts, makes and documents cash deposits and drops in drop safe near admitting.
• Cross-trains to work in other patient services areas.
• Any other duties as assigned by Woman's Hospital.

Description

The Patient Access Representative interviews patients for the purpose of initiating patient record. Obtains financial, demographic and medical data for patient billing and charting. Enters and maintains accuracy of patient location and orders procedure correctly to ensure synchronicity with ancillary service systems who rely on accurate patient status to deliver service and ensure reimbursement. Other duties include, but not limited to, registration of OB Express patients, verifies eligibility and requests financial deposits as required by insurer and hospital policy. Obtains referrals if needed. Assists in training new employees. Performs other duties assigned by department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.

Requirements:
