Job summary

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Representative to greet patients, pre-register and register efficiently, verify insurance, and determine pre-certification needs. You will collect signatures and support timely financial clearance in a respectful, patient-centered manner.

This full-time role operates on an evening shift (2:30pm–11pm), 40 hours per week, with rotating weekends and holidays as department needs.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalency required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum one year experience in insurance verification and medical office/hospital customer service.
• Must have outpatient registration experience.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet, pre-register, and/or register patients in a courteous and professional manner.
• Verify insurance benefits and check for the necessity of pre-certification, authorization and referral.
• Secure patient signatures for required hospital forms and collection of patient’s financial responsibility when required.
• Provide professional, quality customer service, timely resolution to customer problems, and coordination of services to all customers.
• Communicate revenue cycle related issues to patients, physicians, physician office staff and other hospital colleagues.
• Rotate into various areas of patient access and may work a variety of shifts.

Description
