Job summary

LifePoint Ottumwa Regional Medical Center is seeking a Customer Service Representative - Patient Registration to be the first point of contact for patients. You will assist with the check-in process, gather demographics, and support access to care with empathy in a busy hospital setting.

The role is PRN part-time with shifts ranging 8–12 hours, including holiday and weekend availability. Training will be provided for cross-system patient registration and insurance verification to ensure smooth

Qualifications

Exceptional customer service experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable navigating multiple computer systems and checking in patients.
Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification, or front desk is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families during check-in across multiple systems.
Answer phones and collect accurate patient information quickly and accurately.
Assist with insurance details, co-pays, and cost estimates when applicable.
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
Maintain professionalism and empathy in stressful or urgent moments.
