Job summary

You will verify benefits, coordinate with financial counseling, and comply with HIPAA and EMTALA while delivering courteous, efficient service to patients and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in healthcare or business preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish desirable.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a medical or hospital patient access or financial services environment preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid government programs.
• Excellent MS Office and computer skills.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registration and patient registration duties.
• Payer identification and benefit verification.
• Refer to financial counseling as needed.
• Collect at the point of service.
