Job summary

Franciscan Health Indianapolis Campus is seeking a Patient Access Representative I to support preregistration, registration and patient financial counseling. You will gather demographic and financial data for medical records and coordinate with medical staff to ensure HIPAA compliance and accurate billing.

The role requires communicating clearly with patients about copayments and prepayments, and involves evening full-time shifts.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Professional/vocational/trade training acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and families to obtain accurate registration information and enter data without duplicating medical records.
• Enter policy numbers, group numbers, addresses and contact details for billing and clinical data.
• Counsel patients on copayments, prepayments and outstanding balances and assist with financial counseling.
• Perform pre-registrations to maintain patient flow and coordinate with clinical staff across departments.
