Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Creates the initial electronic health record to establish the patient medical record and ensure patient safety.
• Checks in and registers patients, verifies demographics, guarantor and insurance information, and collects co-pays.
• Explains insurance basics and when financial responsibility needs discussion with patients, referring to Financial Advocates as needed.
• Ensures HIPAA compliance and guards patient confidentiality according to regulations.
• Schedules patient appointments and communicates test preparations, arrival times, and directions.
• Provides a welcoming, professional environment and handles calls, inquiries, and patient transport coordination.
• Monitors and manages electronic health record work queues per department procedures.
