Job summary

Dignity Health in San Luis Obispo is seeking a Patient Registration Representative to ensure a positive patient experience during registration, collecting accurate demographics, verifying insurance, and explaining financial liability to families.

You will enter data into the legacy ADT system, verify benefits, explain the Pay Assistance program, obtain necessary signatures, and comply with HIPAA during credit card handling to support reimbursement and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Ensures complete, accurate and timely entry of insurance information into legacy ADT system, at time of service or during pre-registration/pre-admission.
• Collects, enters and completes corrections of required data into the legacy ADT system with emphasis on accuracy of demographic and financial information for appropriate reimbursement.
• Explains the Dignity Health Payment Assistance program and directs patients for further assistance, as necessary.
• Identifies appropriate forms for patient/guarantor signature and obtains signatures.
• Follows hospital policies on credit card handling and treats credit card information as HIPAA protected.
• Verifies insurance benefits on admissions and outpatient services prior to date of service using electronic verification or by contacting payers.
