Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months of office or call center, customer service or healthcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of computers and data entry required.

Responsibilities

• Creating a welcoming and efficient environment for patients, addressing their needs, and providing support throughout the initial stages of their healthcare journey.
• Collect accurate demographic information and enter it into the system; update records and obtain consent as needed.
• Verify patients' insurance coverage and ensure correct coverage using real-time eligibility or online verification tools.
• Obtain necessary pre-authorizations or referrals; explain insurance benefits and financial responsibilities to patients.
• Provide exceptional customer service by answering phones promptly and professionally.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Collect co-pays and balances in accordance with hospital policy.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and manage patient portals.
• Assist patients with navigating and using the online patient portal.
• Be flexible as work assignments shift based on business needs.
