Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Bilingual English/Spanish desirable.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a medical or hospital patient access or financial services environment preferred.
• Knowledge of government programs such as Medicare/Medicaid.

Responsibilities

• Handle pre-registration and registration of patient data.
• Identify and verify payer information and benefits.
• Refer to financial counseling as needed.
• Collect point-of-service payments.
• Ensure accuracy of demographics and benefits in the computer systems.
• Understand regulatory requirements (Medicare, HIPAA, EMTALA).
