Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; advanced education preferred.
• One (1) year of previous medical office experience preferred with prior experience using an electronic health record.
• Professional interpersonal skills, excellent customer service skills. Ability to problem-solve and facilitate resolution to issues while handling multiple priorities.
• Ability to demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge of medical terminology as applicable to the position. Candidates must possess excellent computer and typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Registering and pre-registering patients at the point of service.
• Verifying patient identification, demographic information, and insurance information.
• Collecting co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance at the point of service.
• Obtaining consent for medical treatment and other compliance as necessary.
• Accurate computer data entry and documentation in the registration system.
• Scanning and managing patient documents (insurance cards, IDs, directives, etc.).
• Working with systems including the Patient Registration System, EMR, and Data Pay.
• Performing additional tasks to meet department needs.
