Qualifications

• 6 months of frontline customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify eligibility for insurance benefits with payor/insurance company on a timely basis.
• Submit Emergency Department Notice of Admissions to secure payment for the encounter.
• Process high volume of acutely ill patients with rapid turnover.
• Identify patients in acute conditions to protect safety and avoid duplicates.
• Follow disaster preparedness protocols for mass influx events.
• Stay current with regulatory requirements for ED and inpatient areas.
• Assess transfer eligibility and care levels to avoid unnecessary duplicates.
• Screen uninsured patients for Medicaid expansion eligibility.
• Prioritize multiple tasks and coordinate with EMS in fast-paced settings.
• Conduct bedside registration ensuring verification of benefits.
• Communicate with families, providing empathy and information.
• Resolve technical errors impacting patient care with correct decisions.
• Adapt to unpredictable environments and de-escalate agitated individuals.
• Report to work on time for all scheduled shifts.
• May perform unit/department duties as needed.
