Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• One year previous clerical experience, preferably in a healthcare setting in admissions/billing with emphasis on customer service.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates day-to-day operations for an assigned area or patient population.
• Communicates patient/family health care needs to the appropriate health care provider.
• Screens patients for referral to Financial Assistance or government programs.
• Participates as a Care Team member to achieve business goals and customer satisfaction.
• Answers phone and intercom systems promptly and accurately.
• Orients patient/family to unit/room, visiting hours, and policies.
• Obtains and verifies precertifications based on payor requirements.
• Maintains and balances cash drawer and processes consults/stat orders.
• Ensures communication to providers and departments to meet patient needs.
• Safeguards confidential information and maintains clean work areas.
