Job summary

Edward-Elmhurst Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative I at EMH Main Hospital Elmhurst to handle patient pre-registrations, registrations, and related revenue-cycle tasks. You will greet patients, collect demographic and insurance data, and ensure accurate entry in the hospital system.

The role requires strong communication, data-entry skills, and knowledge of healthcare terminology, with a Monday–Friday evening schedule and rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of registration, scheduling or cash-collection experience in healthcare.
• Knowledge of health insurances, medical terminology and anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients per policy and procedures.
• Collect and analyze data for pre-registration and registration; update billing information.
• Enter orders, manage patient information and assist with cash collections.
• Maintain HIPAA/EMTALA compliance and privacy standards.
