Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Patient Registration Representative to perform general registration functions, schedule appointments, collect co-pays, and verify patient demographics and insurance. The role requires a High School Diploma, proficient MS Office skills, and strong communication abilities in English and Spanish, with CPI training completed within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• CPI training required within 30 days of hire/transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patient or responsible party to obtain demographic information required to register the patient accurately.
• Obtains and reviews doctor’s orders for appropriate signature and admission status prior to registration.
• Communicates effectively with doctor’s office to obtain orders when missing or when additional diagnosis is needed.
• Reviews and confirms patient's financial information by obtaining insurance carrier information, benefit information, policy number, group name and group number.
• Ability to identify the appropriate coordination of benefits for insurance carrier.
• Explains rates, estimates charges for services and hospital policy regarding up-front collections as needed.
• Performs appointment scheduling functions and registers patients for ancillary services.
