Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Chandler, AZ seeks an Outpatient Registration Specialist to manage patient intake, collect demographics, verify insurance eligibility and benefits, ensure HIPAA compliance, and enter data into the hospital EMR system.

As the first point of contact for patients and families, you’ll handle payments, referrals and appointment scheduling, support accurate registration for emergencies and scheduled cases, and contribute to a compassionate, efficient patient experience; a $2,000

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in hospital patient registration or medical setting.
• 1+ year of experience with insurance policies/procedures.
• 1+ year of customer service experience.
• Ability to work Wednesday–Saturday, 8:00am–6:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Register and pre-register patients for emergency, elective and scheduled cases.
• Collect demographics, health information, and verify insurance eligibility/benefits.
• Respond to patient inquiries compassionately and respectfully.
• Obtain benefits and insurance verification.
• Process payments: co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance.
• Enter data accurately into hospital computer systems/EMR.
• Schedule patient services and referrals.
• Generate and analyze patient data reports and follow up on issues.
