Job summary

Johnson Memorial Hospital in Connecticut is seeking a full-time Patient Registration Specialist for the Emergency Department. You will complete patient registrations and pre-registrations, collecting accurate demographic and insurance information while coordinating with multiple hospital systems.

The role requires strong interpersonal and interview skills, solid computer literacy, and knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school education or equivalent required.
• Strong interpersonal and interview skills are essential.
• Proficiency with computer systems and devices is expected.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is preferred.
• Experience in a hospital or physician office is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs complete pre-registrations, registrations and admissions functions.

What You Will Do

• Performs complete and accurate pre-registrations, registration, and admission functions
• Verifies insurance requirements, obtains and understands insurance benefits
• Ensures that all entries concerning demographic, financial and advanced directives are
• Collects non-covered fees

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum High school or equivalent
• One year experience in an accredited hospital or physician's office preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication and interview skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer systems and computer devices
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances
