Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, MA is seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage pre-registration, registration and admission functions for the Emergency Department.

The role involves verifying insurance, handling upfront payments and data entry in Meditech, with an evening shift and 40 hours per week. Orientation is 2–3 weeks on day shift, Mon-Fri, with weekend differentials and benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, college preferred.
• Medical terminology skills.
• Relevant medical office, hospital / physicians billing or patient registration experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service, verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance requirements.

What You Will Do

Position Highlights And Benefits

• 40 Hours 3p-11:30p including every other weekend. Shift and Weekend Differentials will apply
• ORIENTATION IS 2-3 WEEKS ON DAY SHIFT MON-FRI 8-4:30
• 3rd week required for new hire with less than 1 year experience in patient registration in a hospital

Pay Range

$17-24hr

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
