Job summary

CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, ND is seeking a Patient Access Representative to help patients and healthcare teams navigate registration and admitting processes.

You will perform patient registration across access points, verify demographics and insurance, and ensure accurate electronic health record documentation. You will use multiple hospital systems to manage scheduling, document management, and revenue cycle tasks, provide compassionate, privacy‑aware service, and collaborate with care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic admin and computer skills, data entry.
• Ability to answer phones and assist patients.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, email.

Responsibilities

• Patient Access & Registration: Execute accurate patient registration including demographic entry, insurance verification and EHR documentation across all access points.
• Scheduling & Documentation Management: Manage patient appointments and ensure medical records are scanned, indexed and processed per standards.
• Financial Counseling & Revenue Cycle: Communicate patient financial responsibilities using scripts, provide cost estimates and collect payments at the time of service.
• Problem Resolution & Communication: Provide high-quality support via phone and in person, resolve routine discrepancies and escalate complex issues.
• Operational Efficiency & Collaboration: Use multiple software systems to maintain workflow productivity and participate in team meetings to meet service standards.
• Compliance & Professionalism: Adhere to HIPAA and privacy regulations while maintaining a patient-centered environment.
