Job summary

Garden City Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Patient Account Registrar to join our nights team. You will interview patients or their representatives to collect demographics and insurance information, and secure eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable.

This role works closely with the Admitting department, inputting and retrieving data, and coordinating with PBX and reception areas.

Qualifications

• Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or their representatives to collect demographics and insurance information.
• Input and retrieve data; verify eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable.
• Coordinate with Admitting, PBX and reception areas.
• Communicate with diverse patient populations using age-appropriate methods.
• Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
• Complete special projects within a specified timeframe.
