Job summary

Garden City Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Patient Account Registrar for night shift to join our award-winning team dedicated to quality, compassion and community. This on-site role handles patient demographics, insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations while collaborating with Admitting, PBX and reception.

Qualifications

Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Customer Services experience required.
High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required

Responsibilities

Interview the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics.
Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable.
Work closely with the Admitting department including PBX operator function and reception areas.
Operate a computer to input and retrieve data.
Communicate with the population served across all ages.
Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
