Job summary

Garden City Hospital is seeking a Patient Account Registrar to join the Nights shift on a Full Time basis. You will interview patients or representatives to collect demographics and insurance details, and work with the Admitting department to verify eligibility, benefits and authorizations.

Strong communication, data entry, and ability to multi-task are essential as you navigate medical terminology and act as a liaison with patients and insurance providers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous hospital admissions experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interview the patient or representative to obtain demographics and insurance information; secure eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable. Work with Admitting, PBX and reception areas, input and retrieve data, and communicate with patients across age groups.
