You will greet patients, enter demographics, verify insurance, coordinate bed assignments, and inform patients of their financial responsibilities, ensuring timely service with a compassionate approach.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Registration or bed control experience in a hospital setting and familiarity with determining financial responsibility for services preferable.

Responsibilities

• Greet incoming patients and coordinate the registration process with applicable departments.
• Create accurate patient encounter records by collecting and entering demographics into the system.
• Perform phone registrations to ensure scheduled patients are processed promptly upon arrival.
• Verify insurance coverage for patients undergoing outpatient surgery.
• Initiate insurance precertification for inpatients and outpatients where applicable.
• Coordinate assignment of patient beds in accordance with physician orders.
• Gather and process registration data to meet state, federal, and accreditation standards and inform patients of hospital policies.
• Inform patients of estimated financial responsibility and collect co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, or estimates at registration.
