Job summary

Endeavor Health in Bolingbrook, IL, is seeking a Patient Access Representative to support inpatient, outpatient and ER services. You will handle pre-registrations, registrations, order management and cash collection with attention to accuracy and patient privacy.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1–2 years in healthcare customer service, knowledge of health insurance terms and strong data entry. The schedule rotates with weekends and holidays; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED
• Associate degree in business or healthcare (Preferred)
• License: A valid driver's license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off site location.
• Experience & Skills (Preferred): 1–2 years of registration, scheduling, patient accounts, cash collections or customer service in healthcare
• Knowledge of health insurances, medical terminology and anatomy
• Strong data entry and keyboarding skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Bilingual skills

Responsibilities

• Provide in-patient, out-patient, emergency room and same day surgery patients with timely and accurate pre-registrations, registrations, order management, charge capture and cash collection functions.
• Collects, analyzes and records demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data from multiple sources and obtains signatures as needed.
• Screens for third-party eligibility and enters medical necessity coding to ensure accurate payment.
• Interact in a customer-focused manner to meet patient and family needs and explain hospital revenue cycle expectations.
