Qualifications

• High school diploma or associate degree in related area is preferred.
• 2-3 years of progressively more responsible experience in patient access, hospital registration or related area.
• Advanced knowledge of third party payers requirements, reimbursements and copayments/deductible collections, etc.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and orientation on department methods, procedures and policies.
• Resolve insurance verification problems with patients and third party payers.
• Assist Financial Counselor with counseling to identify payment sources.
• Verify insurance coverage, authorizations, and patient liability; ensure accurate bill production.
• Schedule tests and services following clinical guidelines and hospital policies.
• Assist with special projects and communicate clinical, financial, and administrative information.

Skills
