Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Some college or healthcare focused classes preferred such as medical terminology, medical office practices.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients in person and at bedside with accuracy and empathy.
• Collect and verify all required demographic, insurance, and financial data in compliance with HIPAA.
• Perform pre-registration for scheduled procedures and admissions.
• Schedule appointments or coordinate workflows for endoscopy, PAT lab, and other ancillary services.
• Educate patients on Notice of Privacy Practices and Conditions of Admission; obtain signatures.
• Perform payment collection functions including co-pays and deposits; reconcile cash drawers.
• Navigate Cerner and insurance portals to ensure workflow completion.
• Support departmental flow and patient satisfaction through timely communication and proactive service recovery.
• Maintain accurate chart flow and document handling per HIM standards.
• Participate in quality and safety initiatives and during system downtimes.
