Job summary

Mainstay Medical is seeking a Manager, Patient Access Operations in San Diego. This hands-on leader will mentor the Prior Authorization Specialist, Benefit Verification, and Intake Coordinator teams while handling select cases to ensure timely, accurate authorization and patient access.

You will partner with Case Managers and reimbursement teams to optimize workflows, address payer requirements, and scale processes to reduce delays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree with healthcare experience.
• Experience in patient access, prior authorization, reimbursement, or utilization review.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance management for the patient access team.
• Coordinate with Case Managers and reimbursement partners to prioritize workload and support complex cases.
• Ensure consistent execution of established workflows and processes.
• Serve as a subject-matter resource for payer requirements and authorization processes.
• Maintain direct responsibility for patient access activities and cases as needed.
• Identify operational trends, improve efficiency, and reinforce accountability.
• Help build scalable processes that reduce delays and denials.
