Job summary

Freeman Health System is seeking a Patient Access Registrar to register patients, collect information, and verify insurance at the point of service. You will initiate financial counseling, collect payments, and ensure accurate data entry while representing the hospital in all initial patient communications.

The role requires at least 6 months of customer service, basic computer and office equipment knowledge, and a minimum 35 WPM typing speed. Medical office experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months customer service experience.
• Knowledge of computers and standard office equipment required.
• Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.
• Medical office experience preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect initial information for all services.
• Interview patients and obtain required signatures and forms.
• Initiate financial counseling and collect co-pays.
• Verify insurance at point of service and document estimates.
• Serve as the primary contact for Freeman Health System patients.
• Coordinate with ED, Outpatient, Surgery, and Financial Counseling teams.
