The role requires leadership abilities, strong customer service, and HIPAA knowledge to optimize workflows and payer communications across departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in Business, Finance, Health Information Management, or related field preferred.
• Two (2) years of customer service OR healthcare related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and training to Patient Access staff.
• Oversees registration, scheduling, and insurance verification processes.
• Ensures HIPAA compliance and protects patient confidentiality.
• Manages department schedules and staffing coverage.
• Supports financial counseling and payment plans with patients.
• Maintains accurate patient data in the EMR (Epic) system.
• Resolves complex billing discrepancies to improve revenue cycle.
• Leads quality assurance initiatives and audits to drive improvements.
