Job summary

Signature Health is seeking a Patient Intake Specialist to support seamless patient access and financial clearance. You will register patients, verify insurance coverage, and coordinate scheduling with a focus on accuracy and patient experience.

Collaborating with Patient Services and Patient Financial Services, you will ensure eligibility and financial responsibilities are clearly communicated while maintaining HIPAA standards and a respectful, patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of office, customer service, or related experience required; medical office experience preferred.
• Experience working with payer sources, such as Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial insurances.
• Previous experience in a primary care or behavioral health setting.
• EPIC experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).

Responsibilities

• Create a friendly, courteous first impression for patients and families during phone, in-person, and electronic interactions.
• Accurately complete patient registration by obtaining and updating demographic, insurance, medical, financial, and required documentation in the EHR.
• Perform in-depth insurance verification and benefit eligibility reviews.
• Assess patients to determine need for financial clearance or assistance.
• Educate patients on financial responsibilities and available options.
• Assist patients with enrollment related to financial assistance programs.
• Coordinate scheduling to ensure provider and clinician schedules are managed.
• Review daily reports and tasks to correct coverage or balance errors.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
