Job summary

Signature Health Inc is seeking a Patient Intake Specialist to support a seamless patient access and financial clearance process. You will verify insurance coverage, complete registrations, and coordinate scheduling while communicating financial responsibilities to patients.

Ideal candidates will have 2–3 years of office or medical office experience, EPIC/EHR familiarity, and strong attention to detail. This full-time role may require occasional extended hours and teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of office, customer service, or related experience required.
• 1-2 years of experience with payer sources (Medicare/Medicaid/Commercial) preferred.
• Experience in a primary care or behavioral health setting preferred.
• Experience with an EHR system; EPIC preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Create a friendly, courteous, and welcoming first impression for patients and families during interactions.
• Accurately complete patient registration by updating demographic, insurance, medical, financial, and documentation in the EHR.
• Perform in-depth insurance verification and benefit eligibility reviews.
• Assess patients prior to services to determine financial clearance or need for financial assistance.
• Educate patients on financial responsibilities and available payment options.
• Assist patients with enrollment in financial assistance programs and payment plans.
• Coordinate scheduling needs and ensure appointments are managed effectively.
• Conduct inbound and outbound outreach to resolve registration, insurance, scheduling, balance, or financial clearance needs.
• Review daily reports and workqueues to correct coverage or balance errors.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
• Demonstrate dependability, professionalism, and teamwork.
• Participate in staff meetings and workflow improvement efforts.
• Other duties as assigned.
