Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish desirable.
• At least 2 years' experience in a medical or hospital patient access or financial services environment preferred.
• Knowledge of government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registration, registration, payer identification and verification.
• Referral to financial counseling and point of service collections.
• Ensure data gathered and entered is accurate in patient demographics and benefits.
• Verify benefits eligibility and coordination of benefits; determine patient financial responsibility.
• Understand regulatory requirements (Medicare, HIPAA, EMTALA).
• May have additional duties within scope of role.
