Job summary

Baptist Health Resource Center is seeking a Patient Registration Specialist to perform pre-registration, registration, payer identification and verification, and coordinate with financial counseling at the point of service.

The role ensures accurate demographic and benefit data in the system, verifies benefits, and collects the patient's financial responsibility while adhering to HIPAA and EMTALA requirements.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a medical or hospital patient access or financial services environment preferred.
• Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Handle pre-registration and registration of patients.
• Identify and verify payer information and benefits.
• Refer patients to financial counseling as needed.
• Collect payments at the point of service and ensure data accuracy.
