Job summary

Jupiter Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to deliver a dynamic customer experience during patient registrations at our Palm Beach County facility. You will collect demographics and insurance information, verify coverage, determine medical necessity, and communicate financial responsibilities while coordinating with internal teams to facilitate access to hospital services.

Qualifications

• BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
• Billing and coding certification preferred.
• Experience using EMR systems, insurance verification, eligibility, and electronic billing.
• Knowledge of health insurance plans and interpretation of benefits.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide excellent customer service.
• Medical terminology knowledge; proficient with Microsoft Office; strong communication and organization.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with strong time management.

Responsibilities

• Obtain demographic, insurance, and medical information to ensure accurate registration.
• Perform insurance verification, data collection and documentation.
• Determine medical necessity for services based on established criteria.
• Identify patient financial responsibilities and collect applicable monies.
• Act as liaison to internal and external customers to facilitate access to hospital services.
• Secure all necessary documentation to register the patient's visit.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
