Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is hiring for a Patient Access Clerk to ensure smooth check-in and discharge. You will greet patients, collect demographics and insurance data, verify coverage, and explain policies while guiding them through the billing process.

This role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Per diem on-site position with day, swing, and weekend shifts available.

Qualifications

  • Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information in systems.
  • Enter data accurately into the appointment and billing systems.
  • Schedule appointments and confirm patient information.
  • Explain insurance and billing policies to patients.
  • Process payments and provide receipts.
  • Obtain pre-authorization for procedures when needed.
  • Escalate complex questions to patient access senior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients professionally and assist with check-in and discharge.

  • Assist patients with scheduling and information accuracy.
  • Explain billing policies and payment procedures.
  • Process payments and issue receipts.
