Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact for patients across multiple Grand Junction clinics. The role emphasizes accurate data collection, registration, scheduling, and insurance verification to support seamless patient care.

The position is a float pool with 40-hour weeks and requires strong communication, teamwork, and EMR proficiency to deliver outstanding customer/patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Greet and connect with patients by phone, in person, or via secure messaging to resolve needs and ensure a positive experience.
• Document all phone calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedule patient appointments for visits, procedures, tests, referrals, and consultations.
• Register patients by confirming and updating demographic data in the registration system; follow procedures.
• Obtain copies of insurance cards/IDs and signatures; verify insurance coordination of benefits and pre-authorizations when needed.
• Assist patients with forms for regulatory and billing needs; educate about financial assistance; proactively request payments.
• Stay updated on responsibilities and processes via newsletters, dashboards, and meetings to maintain high performance.
