Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Patient Access Financial Advocate to perform financial screening for hospital, pre-registration, ER and outpatient accounts. You will determine insurance eligibility, review benefits, and help patients understand costs using cost-estimation tools and CARES behaviors.

The role requires experience with Medicaid/PEMOSSA applications, charity care processes, and strong interaction with patients to resolve balances and set up payment plans.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of healthcare experience in a physician office or hospital setting.
• Experience with Medicaid eligibility and charity care processes is preferred.
• Ability to counsel patients on financial responsibilities and options.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial screening for scheduled, admitted, and discharged patients.
• Confirm insurance eligibility and perform benefits reviews.
• Create cost estimates for services and communicate them to patients.
• Post payments and assist in payment plan creation for balances.
• Assist patients in resolving account questions and completing financial assistance applications.
