Qualifications

• 1 year of Patient Access operations activities (scheduling/registration/insurance) or related experience.
• Experience in scheduling, registration, insurance, billing, collections, and customer service in hospital or physician's office setting.
• May consider successful completion of 1100+ related Career Tech program or one year of college coursework in a related field in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate pre-care operations and account resolution for patients, providers, and payers.
• Provide information on coverage eligibility, benefits, and patient financial liability.
• Assist with financial counseling, government program screening, and payment arrangements.
• Handle inbound calls to resolve concerns and collect patient payments.
• Document all patient account activities accurately and timely.
• Respond to inquiries regarding policies, coverage, and financial liability.
• Utilize resources to resolve payor inquiries during phone calls or while reviewing accounts.
• Communicate payer regulations and coverage details to patients clearly.
• Maintain compliance with EMTALA, HIPAA, and related policies and contracts.
