Responsibilities

• Performs patient access, registration, admitting and financial counseling activities, including pre-registration and registration.
• Supports the Pain Clinic within the St. Joseph Medical Group.
• Assembles data and documents for complete patient registration and completes insurance verifications.
• Enters patient demographic information and uses applications for eligibility and authorization.
• Assesses patient financial responsibility and collects co-pays and deductibles at admission.
• Explains hospital policies about payment sources to patients and families.
• Obtains funding information and assists with government or charity funding options as applicable.
• Uses payer resources to assess eligibility and initiates third party referrals.
• Collaborates with revenue cycle to resolve issues and maintains fiscal records.
